SAGD operations produce a bitumen-water emulsion to the surface, and the bitumen component is processed to a Sales Oil quality in order to be sold. Bitumen processing operations produce liquid bitumen at Sales Oil quality by progressively removing both produced water and produced gas from the emulsion. A very important part of bitumen processing is maintaining the correct density of the bitumen as the water component is removed from the emulsion, and this is achieved through controlled addition of low-density hydrocarbon liquid called diluent at each stage of produced water removal.
Contendo’s SAGD Bitumen Processing Training Course is designed to prepare you for work in the oil industry by providing a comprehensive understanding of SAGD Bitumen Processing operations. We describe why and how the produced bitumen-water emulsion is treated to produce Sales Oil.
General topics include discussions of Bitumen Processing methods, such as Gravity Separation, Electrostatic Separation, and Sales Oil Stabilization; Density Adjustment; Emulsion Breaker Chemicals; Sales Oil Stabilization; Produced Gas Separation and Handling; Vapour Recovery; Flaring Operations; and, Fuel Gas Supply.
We use animations to take you inside vessels and equipment to see each process and flow stream, making the training valuable to all tradespersons, supervisors, and managers interested in SAGD Bitumen Processing operations.
Safety features, warnings, and typical PSV locations are included so you can appreciate hazards and how they are handled.
The complete SAGD Bitumen Processing Course consists of 27 Learning Modules.
