About Contendo

Operations people, building the training operations needs.

Contendo builds competency training for industrial facilities. Our programs give operators a working understanding of the whole plant: how it is built, how it behaves, and how one change moves through it. That is what gives people the confidence to act before a small problem becomes downtime.

One change, felt across the facility. Our modules teach the whole loop, so operators see what a high level upstream means three vessels downstream.

What we build

Competency that sees the whole facility.

A procedure tells an operator which valve to open. Competency is knowing why, what it will do to the rest of the process, and what to watch for next. We build training that takes people all the way there.

Every program starts from the facility’s own drawings, operating manuals and control data. From there we build up the layers: the equipment, the mechanism inside it, and the causes and effects that link one unit to the next.

The result is holistic knowledge of the facility rather than a set of memorised steps. Operators learn to read the plant, recognise an upset forming, and make the right call early.

Why it matters on shift

Understanding is what keeps a facility running.

Our founders

Nearly a century of project and operations experience.

Contendo was founded by people who have spent their careers on project sites and in operating facilities: building plants, bringing them on line and keeping them running. Between them, our founders bring nearly a century of combined project and operations experience.

That experience is the lens every program is built through. We build for the operator on a night shift with an alarm coming in, the supervisor bringing a new crew up to speed, and the manager who needs to know the whole team is working from the same understanding of the plant.

Our team

Production experts who bring innovation to the content.

Our writers are former process operators, commissioning specialists, engineers and technologists. They work alongside animators and developers, so the content is technically right the first time and shown in a way people remember.

Built from your drawings

Interactive schematics taken from the facility’s own P&IDs, tagged the way operators see them in the field.

The process, running

Animated scenes that show fluids, flows and equipment in operation instead of describing them.

Down to the mechanism

Cutaways and sections that reveal what happens inside the equipment and the reservoir.

Our platform

Delivered on our own Training Management System.

Programs are delivered through the Contendo Training Management System, built by our own development team for industrial operations. It brings training, orientation and field level assessments into one online portal that works on any connected device.

Field assessment upload. Supervisors verify competency on site and the record lands in the operator’s file.

Assigned training. Each operator sees their modules, plays them and takes the test in one place.

How we work

From your drawings to a competent crew.

01

Consultation

We meet your operations, HSE and training leads to define who needs to know what, and to what standard.

02

Source capture

Operating manuals, P&IDs, control system data and procedures become the specification for every module.

03

Production

Our writers and animators build modules that show the process running, with worksheets, reviews and tests.

04

Delivery and records

Modules go live on the TMS. Results are recorded automatically and reported to your training manager.

Tell us about the facility, the people and the gap.

A 30 minute call is enough to scope most programs. No deck, no pressure, just a conversation about what your operation needs people to know.
